Background: 

Dr Claudia Hallett is the Clinical lead of the Depersonalisation Disorder Service, based at the Centre for Anxiety Disorders and Trauma (CADAT). As part of her role, she is responsible for the research and development of a Cognitive Behavioural model of treatment for individuals with Depersonalisation Disorder (DPD).

Dr Hallett is involved in the teaching of anxiety disorders on the Clinical Psychology Doctorate course at the IOPPN, as well as providing clinical placements and supervision for clinical psychology trainees, IAPT colleagues and MSc students.

In addition to her DPD work, Dr Hallett has a longstanding clinical and research interest in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for perinatal anxiety, trauma and depression.

Education and Training: 

Dr Hallett received a First Class BSc (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Bristol. She started her career as a research psychologist specialising in psychosis in the Unit for Social and Community Psychiatry, a World Health Organisation Collaborating Centre operated jointly by Queen Mary University of London and East London NHS Foundation Trust. Dr Hallett completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IOPPN). Her DClinPsy research project was focused on cognitive mechanisms of change in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). She went on to specialise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) undertaking a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapies at the IOPPN.
